2020 room tour. *dances into my room*

Hey y’all. How’s life? I’m doing good 🙂

Today I cleaned my room so I figured I could do a room tour! We moved into our current house about 2 years ago I think and I got my own room for the first time! I really like having my own space and I really like the cozy vibes of my room. I spend a lot of time in my room, but I like the space. I’m thinking about redoing my room next year but my parents said I have to pay for it so I need to get a job and start saving xD

any who, let’s get onto the actual post!

*please forgive me for the not-so-great lighting, these winter days are quite dreary and gray so I don’t have a lot of natural light, but SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!!! Ok, fine, not exactly but its decently close!

Okay, we’ll start with my favorite part of my room: MY BED <<333333 I spend a lot of time in bed, I like to do school in bed, and read in bed, and journal on my bed, and yeah I like my bed 😀 I got the throw blanket on the end for Christmas from my mom and dad and I LOVE it. It’s so soft and I love the geometric design on it! I also really like the goodnight gorgeous pillow, it says good morning gorgeous on one side and the other side says good night gorgeous so thats cool!

This is my chair. I don’t know how to elaborate on that 😂 To the left of my chair is the door where you enter my room, I forgot to take a picture from that view so WHOOPS. Under my chair is a horse blanket that I’ve had since I was like 8 and until Christmas of 2019, I still slept with it. Then my parents got me the new blanket shown in the picture above and so I folded the horse one up and stuck it there. I don’t quite know what I’m going to do with it yet, I’m not ready to get rid of it xD

I also have my guitar (which I still need to learn to play) and then a little storage container thing where I keep my purse!

My aunt is an amazing painter and when we moved into our new house she sent this AMAZING picture to my sister and I! My aunt ( you can view her Etsy shop here.) paints abstract paintings ( I used to call them nonsense paintings bc they didn’t make sense xD) so painting horses was harder for her but I think it’s great!! I really love the colors and the horses were made to look like our horses so thats cool!

To the right of my chair I have my nightstand which is actually just an old crate tipped upside down xD On it I have my lamp, a house phone, a ring holder and some little bird figurines. I also have my Bible, a book where I write my favorite quotes, and my bullet journal.

My bed <333333 again bc why not xD. I have a down comforter ( I’m pretty sure anyways ;)) and it is sooo nice.

Above my bed, I have a dream catcher my mom and I made! I think the dream catcher is so cute and it was actually really easy to make! It was kind of speedy tho, The ribbons and lace that hang from it were not cheap. Next to the dreamcatcher, I have a shelf with an air plant, fairy lights, a dish thats shaped like a leaf and then a quote book and a Bible. Continiueing on, next to my shelf, I have a light up sign that says Hello. And that is all for those two sides of my room! Next to my bed I have a window but I did not get a picture of that so welp.

Across the room from my bed I have a woven basket type thing were I keep extra pillows and blankets. I also have my stuffed animals sat on top of it and then there is a full length mirror behind it. The full length mirror is definitely one of my favorite things in my room, it’s the best for seeing an outfit, and looking at my pimples, and all the normal things u use mirrors for xD

Next, there is a door into my walk in closet, probably the favorite thing in my room! My dad made me some built in bookshelves and so I have all my books stored there, as you can probably tell, I like reading 😉

Continuing on into my closet: I have my clothes, some are hung up and some are in drawers and then I have other things tucked away mostly in boxes and such!

On the right side of my closet I have a rod to hang clothes and a while ago I tried to color coordinate my hanging clothes but as you can see, that idea has gone mainly down the drain. I’m doing good if I even hang the clothes up now ;))))

On the left side of my closet, I recently painted the wall with chalk board paint and now I can write on it with chalk! It’s really cool but it also sucks because the chalk leaves a lot of dust and then my closet needs vacuumed like 24/7 🤦🏼‍♀️

But I just wrote ” you look great” bc I need to work on self confidence more 🙂

And, on the last wall of my room, I have a desk. I keep all my journaling and letter writing supplies in the drawers and I also have a candle drawer, makeup drawer, and tea drawer. Cool stuff tho. On top of the desk I have a bunch of succulents that I got from the company mountain crest garden, go check them out, they’re awesome! On one side of my mirror I have a bunch of polaroids and on the other side is a dry erase board that I write quotes on!

A better picture of the succulents and also, MY NEWEST POETRY BOOK!!!! Its called ” all along you were blooming” and its a collection of poetry by Morgan Harper Nichols and the whole book is so so SO gorgeous. I might do a blog post about it once I get around to reading some of the poetry xD

Ft. my closet door and the majority of the wall!! I have Christmas lights hung around my room and I absolutely love them! My actual light bulb has a yellow thing around it so the light is yellow and I don’t like the yellow light so I usually just use the natural light and my Christmas lights 😀

And last but not least, I have my earring and necklace holders! I’m getting quite the collection of necklaces and earrings and I’m quite happy about that 😊

  5. I absolutely LOVE your room! So pretty! Did you make/buy your earring holder? I really need once of those! My earrings are currently jumbled up in a little drawer in my jewelry box (among other things! XD)

    1. Thank youuuu! I made it! It was actually pretty easy and I really like how it turned out! I spray painted a picture frame, cut lace to fit it, and the hot glued the lace to the frame! Hahaha mine were all like that too before I made my earring holder xD

    1. Thank you!!! Ahhh yes, I agree! We have two ‘ponys,’ but they’re right below 14 hands so they’re almost ‘horses’ 😂 We’ve ha them for a while but I think I’m going to sell mine bc school has started to be more stressful and i have other things 😦

Okay I’ll stop freaking out but seriously sis I love it and you’re so organized gfdyghuefydghus. I have my own room too ever since we moved and I want to revamp it because as of now it’s a plain brown theme. But ah I’m stealing like all these ideas. Good luck on the guitar and your room is so pretty – and so is your mind with all these books and journals yes sis! I need a day in my life post rnnn.

    I really like the bed, the fairy lights, the horse painting(your aunt is an amazing artist!) and the closet. I really like the bookshelf in the closet too. My mom wanted to put bookshelves in one of our closets, but my dad was like: “who puts bookshelves in a closet?” I personally love the idea.
    I like your room a lot😁

      I LOVE my bookshelf in the closet, I also personally love the idea! Then you dont have to worry about bookshelf space in your room, you dont have to keep all your books in plain sight in ur room, and its just overall really nice. Thats sad that ur dad didn’t like the idea :(( My Dad definitely has his own ideas sometimes xD

      Ahhhh u should, they’re really useful! I actually made mine, I painted a picture frame, hot glued lace around the edges and then hot glued some lace on the top to hang it to the wall and violá-there you have it!

    Also it is legit, my dream room. :<3
    I love the huge bed right by the window and the fact that your nightstand is a upside-down old crate, it looks fantastic! I love your desk and that you put your plants there (mine are on my window sill and it's a bit annoying because any time I want to close the blinds, I have to move them xP) Your comforter is beautiful and I really like how you sort your earrings.
    Those closets tho. Wow. Those are epic.
    And haha, Nancy Drew and the Great Illustrated Classics were my childhood. *high-fives*
    I also try to keep my clothes color-coordinated (it makes my closet look sooo much more organized haha) I share a small room, so I don't get a lot of say over it, or a lot of room to play around with, but I moved about a year ago, and instead of sharing with three sisters, I only share with one so I got to do some things with my space (now that I have space haha) After reading this, though, I feel inspired to go and redo everything. 😆

I needed a night stand and my mom told me she had a crate I could use and I said sure why not xD Thank you! My parents wouldn’t let me put them on the window sill bc they were worried the plant pots might make rings in the sill or something? Thank u!!
      Ahhh I love my closet so much. Thank you! Ahhh YES SAME!!! *highfives back* I loveeee the Great Illustrated Classics sooo much! My closet stays super messy usually bc I change in there and also it a closet= no one can see if it’s messy if my doors shut xD

    Your room looks so cosy, the bed looks perfect to read in!! It is so cool that your aunt paints, it is amazing!!
    I love the bookshelf and the closet (the chalk board is so cute)!! I also like the Polaroids, I always think they look so cool on walls like that!!
    My room has blue walls from when I was younger but I don’t really like them now!! haha!!

    1. Thank you!! Ahhh I love them too! I don’t mind, a dream catcher is something some Native American cultures use and they typically hang them over cradles and they believe that the dreams get caught in the string/lace/net at the top? I don’t believe all that, but I think they’re cute and I have a little bit of Native American blood in me so yeah!

I am in love with your room 😍 Your bookcase is a work of art and the actual piece of art by your aunt is so pretty 🐴 The unique touches of the upside down crate and the chalk board wall are cool too ✨ I used to share a room with my sister despite always having my own (long story! 😂) but now I have my own space and want to make it into something special without all of the mess it seems to magically grow at the moment 😂 great post! ❤️

  25. I love this post! Your room is so cute!! And it seems bigger than mine lol. Plus: how do you have so many bookssssss!! To be honest, I never really bought books–they’ve been gifted in some way, or I got them because they were on my library’s “free books” cart, or I bought them for 5 bucks. Lol. So as much as I love books, my collection isn’t nearly as big as your’s. XD
    And wow, your aunt is so talented; her paintings are amazing!

    1. Awww I’m glad!!! Thank u!! Haha it’s a decent size! Ahhh SAME! Most of my books are gifted to me or I buy them at garage sales or goodwill! My library doesn’t have a free cart :((( that sounds awesome tho! Haha I want to buy more books this year, like I want to buy some of my favourites :)) YES She is so TALENTED!!!
