How to have a Christmas sleepover in August. Because why not? *shrugs*

Hello people! How are you doing? I hope you’re doing wonderful 🙂

Today I’m back with a random post that I hope you’ll love. Last week, my friend and I were cleaning our house and singing karaoke and talking about holidays. Our favorite holiday (Christmas!!!!) came up (obviously ;)) and we were all like “It’s so sad that Christmas isn’t for another like 6 months! Yeah, I wish it was Christmas right now. Wait. What if we had a Christmas sleepover tonight?!? But.. it’s like the middle of summer? Who cares?!” and that was how it went down y’all. And the idea was born. We could go shopping, get supplies, watch a Christmas movie, listen to some Christmas songs, build a “gingerbread” house, and of course, string Christmas lights around the room.

So with all that being said, here are the SIX easy steps to having your very own Christmas sleepover in the middle of August!!

Step one:

Dress festive. Our first idea was to dress like it was winter but we decided that might make us look a bit too weird. So we opted for the more simple, refined look. Christmas themed fuzzy socks. Because fuzzy socks are the best and them being christmassy is just a bonus 😉

Step two:

Get snacks. Preferably Christmas themed ones but alas, since it is August, your local store might not be supplying Christmas snacks unless they are super awesome. We did actually find peppermint sticks so that was cool 🙂 If you’re planning on building a gingerbread house you will need to find some candy and supplies to decorate that! Warm foods and drinks that remind you of winter are also really swell!

Step three:

Create the atmosphere. String some lights up, bring in the fuzzy blankets and pillows. Get comfortable. If you want to be really extra you could even get all the Christmas decor. It’d be great ❤ Our area was pretty cute anyways 🙂

Step 4:

Get yo self some tunes. Preferably Christmas ones so they go with the theme 🙂

Step five:

Pick a holiday themed movie. In this instance we chose to watch Mandie and The Forgotten Christmas and it was pretty good. I fell asleep during it though because I was extremely tired so I need to rewatch it sometime 😉

Step 6:

Build your self a beautiful gingerbread mansion home. And then eat it for breakfast the next morning xD Also if you have some struggles with them architecture and building, believe me, we’ve all been there. It’s rough 🙂 But our “gingerbread house” turned out pretty good and it sure tasted good, until we made ourselves sick anyways 😉

And there you have it! 6 easy steps to having your very own Christmas sleepover in the middle of August.

I hope you enjoyed! Would you have a spontaneous Christmas sleepover in august? What is your favorite thing to do with your friends? What is your favorite holiday? Chat with me in the comments, I’d love to talk!

xx, Jasmin

  1. Okay not even joking but m, this SOUNDS AMAZING!!! I love this, it’s like the phrase “ Christmas in July” but in August. Honestly, next summer I’m going to get on this❤️

  2. Sounds so fun! ❤️ Warm fuzzy socks are the best, I have to say I am ready for the cold weather when it comes because nothing beats feeling all cozy ☺️ Also your gingerbread house is amazing?! Teach me your architecture skills! I’ve actually never made a gingerbread house (this Christmas, I promise!) but I definitely want to give it a go ❤️ Lovely post! 🙂

  3. wow thats so rude! I do not think Jesus was offended whatsoever and YES WE SHOULD CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS EVERY DAY!!! DEDICATE YOUR LIFE TO HIM!!! How do you know Jesus was born on December 25th?

    1. I agree, I don’t think Jesus would be offended at all! Haha, celebrating Christmas everyday is completely fine in my opinion and YES dedicate your life to him!! Yep, that’s the thing, we don’t know when exactly Jesus was born, I want to read up on that and see what the Bible and others say 🙂
Thanks for reading and commenting! 💓

    1. HAHA 😂 One of my favorite quotes is: If you’re going to be weird, be confident about it” and honestly I try to live my life by that. Everyone’s weird but I am especially 😂 and TRY ITTTTTT!!! It was so fun and it’s only one night! Thanks for reading and commenting 💓

      1. Hi! Thank-you for waiting for my response,
Though many people believe that they celebrate Christmas because it originated with Christ’s birthday, I don’t think it did. Why would unbelievers celebrate it the same way Christians do except that they don’t have Jesus? Where did Santa, the Christmas tree and wreath, holly, carolling, and all the other practices really come from? Why do people celebrate Christmas in December when it is known that He was either born in the Spring or Fall? I have a video I can send you if you are curious as to what I think, but what do you think they originated from?

      2. Hi 🙂 Now worries! So you are really knowledgable in this spot obviously, where as I am not so equally matched. That’s a really good point about where did the typical “Christmas” things come from! I want to read into that. And interesting, I never knew that Jesus was born in either the spring or the fall! Where is that found, is it in the Bible?

      3. No it is not directly stated in the Bible when Jesus was born, not December nor the Spring. My reasoning behind that would be in the video. Would you like me to send it to you? Then you will understand me better and be more equally matched.

      1. We got up to about 55 degrees or 131 Fahrenheit once! Usually it’s mid 30’s though. Our winters are in the early 20’s so even that’s not very cold by most people’s standards. It’s pretty crazy, haha! Nice weather though.

  4. Okay, but how is it not Christmas already? It feels like it should be May 2021 at this point XD. (And I usually think each year that Christmas just comes sooner and sooner)
Perhaps I’m already preparing for Christmas myself? I just wrote a Christmas blog post, and I’m also wondering if it’s too early to begin listening to Christmas music? Hehe.
Anyway, it looks like you had such a fun time! Christmas sleepovers look so fun.

  5. This looks like so much fun! I love your attitude. Who cares if you have a Christmas themed sleepover in August? I’m sure Jesus won’t mind you celebrating his birthday twice. It’s my birthday coming up so now I fancy having a Christmas themed sleepover to mark the occasion. I don’t know whether you’ve heard all the British peeps complaining already but it’s so damn hot here right now. Even looking at the cozy set up makes me sweat, the heat is kinda unbearable (and the laptop feels like it’s about to explode). Glad you had a fun time with your friends! My birthday is on the 25th, exactly 4 months before Christmas. Four months Jasmin!!! I’m already excited :)) x

    1. It was!! Haha I’ve really decided that I need to just live my life and if that means having a Christmas sleepover in the middle of August, so be it. It was loads of fun though 🥰 And yes, I don’t think Jesus mind two birthday celebrations 😉
Ahhhh a Christmas themed birthday would be so fun, especially since your birthday is on the 25th! AND FOUR MONTHS?!?!? Christmas is so close already! I can’t wait 🤩
Sorry about the heat over there, here it’s been hot but not “I wanna go in a freezer and die” heat 😉 We also have AC in our house so that allowed us to curl up in fuzzy blankets and such.
Thank you so much for your comment, it made me so happy. I really really appreciate your continual support, it means the world to me, Catherine 💓

      1. Air Conditioned house would be the dream for when it’s crazy hot, but we don’t have that. I’m kinda glad though – we don’t want to contribute to global warming! “I want to go into the freezer and die” is exactly how I felt when enduring the heat. Fortunately it’s passed now, back to grey old Britain! x

  6. Haha, SO fun!! I love the gingerbread house. Also, I’ve watched Mandie and the Forgotten Christmas, and I really like it, even though I think the first Mandie movie is WAAAY better! ;P Have you watched it?
    Awesome post!!
