Enneagram, is it accurate? Collab with Ainsley Beth! *Fist bump*

Hey guys! Today I’m back with a post that I’m super excited for! I reached out to Ainsley from her blog, Ainsley Beth. Ainsley is the sweetest and I love her blog! She has super relatable posts and her aesthetic is EVERYTHING.

Anyways, a while back while scrolling Pinterest, I seen that Ainsley had pinned some enneagram 9 pins and after looking at her boards I found out that she’s an enneagram 9, just like me! I reached out to her through her website and asked her if she would be interested in doing a enneagram 9 assumptions post with me and she agreed! Well, the day is here for our posts to go up and I’m so excited! You can check out Ainsley’s post here.

Anyways, if you dont know what an enneagram is, here’s a quick explanation!

From one point of view, the Enneagram can be seen as a set of nine distinct personality types, with each number on the Enneagram denoting one type. It is common to find a little of yourself in all nine of the types, although one of them should stand out as being closest to yourself. This is your basic personality type.

Type One is principled, purposeful, self-controlled, and perfectionistic.

Type Two is generous, demonstrative, people-pleasing, and possessive.

Type Three is adaptable, excelling, driven, and image-conscious.

Type Four is expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed, and temperamental.

Type Five is perceptive, innovative, secretive, and isolated.

Type Six is engaging, responsible, anxious, and suspicious.

Type Seven is spontaneous, versatile, acquisitive, and scattered.

Type Eight is self-confident, decisive, willful, and confrontational.

Type Nine is receptive, reassuring, complacent, and resigned.

**info from the enneagram institute website, which you can check out here!

So, Ainsley and I are both type 9’s. We both exchanged some assumptions/questions that are generally true about type 9’s and we wanted to see how accurate or how much we relate to the assumptions! Here are the ones Ainsley sent me:

You’re a very genuine person

Ok, so for this one, my answer is: I try to be! Sometime it can be really hard to be completely yourself and I’m also pretty shy and self conscious but I try my best. I hope I’m considered sincere, I would say for the I am and I hope my friends would say the same.

You like naps/sleeping

Ok. YES. Who doesn’t like sleeping 😂 I have to say, I don’t really enjoy naps though. I can never fall asleep during the middle of the day unless we’re on a really long car ride coming back from a weekend of camping. Then I will nap 😉 But usually naps just aren’t my thing. But sleeping is FANTASTIC. I hate waking up in the morning and everyday I wish I could sleep in more than I do haha!

You keep your opinions to yourself

For the most part I do, especially if I don’t know you very well. But if we’re close and I’m comfortable telling you my opinions and I don’t feel like you’ll judge me, I’ll let you know what I think 😉

 You’re creative

Yes! I love being creative! Art is one of my favorites and I love creating things! Sometimes it’s hard to be creative and original but I adore painting, drawing, journaling, pen-paling and just creating things to make the world a better and more beautiful place. Ok, I’ll admit that sounds cheesy but it’s true ✌🏻

You love long talks

YES YES YES. A thousand times yes! Long talks are the best, especially if they’re with someone I love and am really comfortable around! Long night time talks at sleepovers are 10/10 the best.

And that’s that! I feel like I can relate to most of these, which is really cool! I think enneagrams are so neat because it’s so cool to be able to look at your “type” and relate to it and see how it might affect how you think, make decisions and etc.!
I hope you enjoyed this post, lemme know what you think in the comments! I’d love to chat 🙂

Also, thank you so much Ainsley for doing this with me! It was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed it 🙂 ❤

Have you ever took the enneagram test? What enneagram type are you? Can you relate to any of these assumptions? How’s your week going? Happy October!

xx, Jasmin

  1. I took the test from Ainsley’s blog and it said I was a Type 3. I kinda knew that I’ll get a type 3 but I didnt know how i felt about that?🤔😅
I lovee having long conversations too *squee*🤗😂

What’s the Myers- Breggs test though? :)))

Cool post!! Its amazing how you always come up with such ideas to talk about🌟❤🤩

    1. Ohhh YAY! I have a lot of friends who are 3’s, they’re super fun 😉
twinnsss ahhhh long convos especially one on one with someone you enjoy are hands down the BEST.
Huh I should take that test and kinda do the same type of post with someone from the blogosphere who’s the same as me, because I actually haven’t taken that test in a while! Have you ever taken it?
Aww thank you so much, that actually means the world to me 🤩 💓

      1. Oh wow thanks for that😂Relieved 😂💕
Oooh you nailed it there!! One on ones are amazingg🤗🙌

No I haven’t either. The bunch of letters confuse me though🤔 I think I’m going to take it rightnow😂💕

      2. OKAY. SO I was really confused by that too and one of my blogging buddies mentioned somewhere in a comment on this post that the letters actually stand for something like INFP stands for Introvert, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving, and that helped me understand it a TON better! Not to say I won’t still be horrible at it but hey maybe I’ll be a little better 😉 Ohhh what did ya get?!💓

      1. My favorite thing about enneagram is that it’s about your motivations/core desires rather than how you manifest them. It kinda demonstrates how we all have some main similar desires but we have a variety of ways that we manifest ourselves in personalities! 😉 I think enneagram is accurate if you use it for your core desires, then take the common manifestations of that type with a grain of salt.

        That was long. Oops haha

  2. I reckon I’m either the first type or the ninth like you and Ainsley! Such a fun and engaging post. I’ll have to take a post to check my enneagram and have some certainty on that!

I do have one post that discusses me being a type four! The explanation and background info on that type was quite different to what number four is being listed as here, haha!

    1. Why thank you! Ahaha, they do describe the types a little differently than I’ve heard them explained, I’ve heard 4’s were artistic and more shy and not quite sure of who they are, although I’m sure every type is a little different and doesn’t match up 100%! It’s definitely fun to look into and read up on though, I love stuff like this 🤩
Ahh yes, I’ve seen that post! It was a lovely post, one of my favorites of yours! If you ever decide to do more posts about your enneagram, make sure to let me know 😉 I’d love to read them ❤

  3. This is so interesting! I tried the test as soon as I saw your post because I really love tests that help me further analyse my personality, and I got 4! I think that’s quite true for me, haha! Loved this post!

  4. This was such an interesting post! I actually took a ton of enneagram tests over the weekend, and although I kept getting a 9, I’m pretty sure I’m a 6w5. XD But I loved hearing how your type resonated with you!

    1. Why thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it :))
Ohh interesting, why do you think so?! I totally believe that you could be a 6w5 even if you get 9 a lot of the time. I’ve heard that a lot of people get nine because it’s a mix of all the types and unless you’re in a really REALLY helpful place you can project as a nine? Idk, just what I heard!
But thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed!

  5. I think I got enneagram type 4? I’m not actually sure. I prefer the Myers-Bryggs test because I strongly reasonate with my results of that (I’m an INFP). I think this post was cool though!

      1. I kind of related to 2 different types😂
Oh really? It’s easy to remember for me because they all stand for different things. (Introvert vs Extrovert; thinking vs feelings…) You’ll have to let me know what you get if you ever do take it again!
